CROMWELL, Conn. – Ricky Barnes arrived from NYC just past 3 p.m. (ET), clad in a U.S. Open sweater, San Diego Chargers hat and the same sweeping smile that endeared him to the Bethpage masses after a late night in the City on Monday.

“Had some fun and stayed at friend’s house in the City. It was nice,” Barnes smiled.

This week is Barnes’ first start at the Travelers Championship, a fact complicated by his late arrival. He has no plans to play a practice round today and isn’t scheduled for Wednesday’s pro-am. But then after five long days at the Black, a sight-unseen River Highlands is the perfect cure for the bogey blues.
